To give a child the opportunity for education is a good investment. Thanks to the sponsorship contributions, many children had a spark of hope for a more meaningful future. And knowing that someone from cares for a child in care the child to blossom up and grow. what happens to the money?100% of what you pay on a sponsor's contribution goes to the children in Nepal. Who we work with in Nepal?Sweden Nepal Society began sponsoring in 1993 and has worked for over 10 years with two different organizations in Nepal. Nepal Children´s Organisation (NCO)NCO was founded in 1964 and has an orphanage for orphaned and abandoned children in all 75 districts in the country. NCO also has the right to give children for adoption, both in Nepal and abroad. Most adoptees in Sweden from Nepal will come through the NCO's orphanage. Most of the association is sponsoring the NCO's Bal Mandir orphanage in Kathmandu. The youngest children in the mentoring NCO is usually 8-9 years, because children under 7 years can go into adoptions. More information about NCO's activities can be found on their website : www.nconepal.org Youth ProgramWe have a program for young people who left the institution (NCO), but need financial assistance for their studies. Our skilled staff in place, who manages the distribution of grants to young people. Sponsorship of premiums vary depending on the cost of studies, housing, etc. Our skilled staff is also responsible for the association's medical fund for children in Nepal. Maiti NepalThe organization was founded by Mrs. Anuradha Koirala 1993.At Maiti Nepal takes care of the girls who are victims of traffiking (sold into prostitution), and girls who are at risk to be sold. It also conducts extensive information activities on women's situation in Nepal. The organization did receive the Children's Nobel Prize 2002 in Mariefred from the Swedish queen's hand. To keep costs down we do not send payment form. Most have chosen to pay 1-2 times a year. For the children at NCO, we have the following structure: 75% of sponsorship contributions go to the NCO for shelter and food for the children and their school fees and school uniforms. The remaining 25% will be deposited to the children's individual bank accounts which they obtain when they leave the institution. How to become a sponsor?Contact the society sponsor representative and register your interest. (see info below) You get a form to fill out and photograph and background information on the child. It binds itself in 2 years as a sponsor. Our staff in Nepal provide us then with continuous information on child development and education. You can write to your child sponsorship in simple English, and the visit to Nepal, you are welcome to meet with your child at the orphanage.
